Dimage Minolta ….. Product Review
I have owned a Nikon Coolpix digital camera for slightly over two 1/2 yrs. and in that amount of time I have taken over 3k photographs. As I checked for cameras with longer zooms, there were 2 I liked the range of- both the Canon Pro1 aND the Dimage Minolta. The Dimage Minolta 7X optical zoom provides me a great range between wide angle to telephoto. Due to this wide selection, it is possible to make many different pictures with this great camera.
Another wonderful feature that intrigued me to the Dimage Minolta was the anti-shake feature. A camera with a wonderful zoom is not useful if you cannot hold it steady enough to get a great photo. Regardless of the length of the zoom, the Dimage Minolta camera is surprisingly compact and easily fits into my fanny pack which is precisely what I wanted.
Another feature that I really like about the Dimage Minolta is the adjustable LCD monitor which is much clearer than the one on my Nikon. This enables you to shoot over your head or at a low angle and still see what you are aiming at. You can fold the LCD to where it’s facing the camera body to protect it and also take pictures by using the EVF viewfinder. Which allows you to use less battery strength.
The Dimage Minolta LCD will also turn completely forward so you can do a self portrait by using the radio control to trip the shutter. The remote can also be convenient for long exposures on a tripod like low light shots. For dim lighting shots, it even has noise cancellation to where it will take a 2ND picture with the shutter closed to record any “hot spots” from the pixels and subtract them from the final pics so it is more clear and doesn’t have all those white dots on it. I attempted this and it takes great night pics - in fact the Dimage Minolta took the best low light shots I have gotten with any camera I have took pictures with.
The time between shots it pretty quick. Faster than my Nikon actually. It has manual or auto focus I used manual with it at infinity for my night time pictures since this like many auto focus cameras can have trouble focusing in dim light scenarios. The macro can be used at either the wide angle or telephoto ends of the zoom. I have not especially attempted that yet. Nor have I tried the movie format which is said to be amazing. There are 2 resolutions you may use for that.
I thought my tiny Nikon 4mp camera took nice photographs, but the Dimage Minolta blows that away. It is straightforward enough for a beginner to use it on “Auto” but has enough features to delight most execs too. I already have taken several pictures with this camera. They are very clear - from the wide angle thru telephoto. This camera fit my wants and then some - with all the options possible this camera offers. If your really serious about photography and yet wish to make it simple, the Dimage Minolta is a exceptional camera!
Observe I have not debated the 8 mega-pixels the Dimage Minolta has. The reason for that is because it wasn’t a perquisite for my purchase and delight for this camera. Four mega-pixels is a lot for most uses especially since most users won’t be making prints bigger than 8 x 10. But this camera certainly gives you that possibility.
I love this camera! The photograph is what the eye sees, and the Dimage Minolta will definitely help you to catch what you see with simplicity. I very highly recommend it!

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i Review
1. The Canon EOS Rebel Ti In Brief
Overall this is a good, if not a great camera, the Canon EOS Rebel Ti is a good, if not great medium range SLR which is relatively affordable and offers 15 megapixels for a higher resolution than many competing models of digital camera. 2. LCD Display
The 3″ LCD screen is faultless and is in fact one of the better LCD displays we’ve seen.
3. Image quality and autofocus are both good, but maybe not quite what you’d expect with a 15 megapixel from Canon. The biggest complaint users seem to have is that the Canon EOS Rebel Ti’s autofocus mechanism is loud. While only a little noisy at ISO 1600, switching to ISO 3200 can be loud enough to startle users the first couple of times. It’s not enough of an issue to be a deal breaker, but it is something photographers should know beforehand. 4. Picture Quality/Live View
Overall, the picture quality is good but not great. Pictures are sharp and reasonably clear; amateur photographers will probably find the quality more than adequate. However, semi-pro and professional photographers will probably want to look elsewhere. The live view stills are nothing to write home about. The quality is exactly as good as any other similar model of digital camera.
5. Processor
The Canon EOS Rebel Ti has a new, upgraded processor but 15 megapixel images are a lot to process, so users will probably feel (as we did) that save time could be better. The processing time can be an issue when trying to take continuous shots of a subject, something you should consider before buying this camera.
6. HD Recorder
In this regard, the Canon EOS Rebel Ti performs exceptionally well. The HD recording features of this camera are superior to almost any other digital camera in its range. At 720p, the HD recording quality is incredible at 30 fps. However, this model records 1080p at only 20fps. However, if you need 1080p resolution, you’re better off with a HD camcorder instead. The Rebel lacks a microphone input and its built in sound recording is less than spectacular - so you can get some amazing 720p HD video, but if you need sound which is good as the picture, you’ll be disappointed.
Conclusion:
The Canon EOS Rebel T1i has a number of minor faults, but they are just that: minor. Overall, this is a very solid high-res digital camera which performs as well or better than a lot of competing models. Given the Rebel’s price, however, many consumers may wish for a little more. It’s not a bad choice for the amateur photographer, but there are some better choices out there in the same price range.

* Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens

*3 inch Clear View LCD with Live View

*Lightweight construction
*720p HD video recording at 30 fps, 1080p at 20fps
*Large, high quality LCD screen

Five Great Points To Shoot That Portrait
One of the most popular forms of photography is portrait photography. Just about anyone who can point and shoot their camera can be considered portrait photographers. Obviously, however, there are differences in the quality of the portraits. There are certain tricks that professional portrait photographers use that allow them get the best out of their subjects. Portraits do not necessarily mean only a person’s image. Portraits show character and emotion. If it is your goal to become a good portrait photographer I am about to share with you five tips that can give you a step up on the competition.
Rapport: The first thing you need to do is build rapport with your subject. Having an interest in your models is definitely a plus. If you show an interest in your subject a comfort level is reached that allows them to be more natural in front of the camera. When the shutter is clicked your chances of getting amazing photos is increased tenfold.
Personality: The best photographs show the viewer a bit of the subject’s personality. This occurs best if you have an insight to the person. You want their personality to shine in the look in their eyes or the set of their mouth. A hint is that their personality will usually come out when they are not expecting a shot to be taken, so you have to be ready to take the picture when the opportunity comes.
Lighting: Most photographers prefer natural lighting. However since you want to emphasize the person’s face and character, you should always consider using artificial lighting. Be sure that light is evenly distributed, or that it satisfies the angle that you want to emphasize. Lighting can have a great effect especially if your they want a serious picture.
Background: Most portraits have light backgrounds to emphasize the subject. You can also use the environment to add more character to your subject. Also, be sure that the colors of your background and the dress of your subject compliment each other. Sometimes backgrounds become the flaw of a picture because the photographer took it for granted.
Plan: It is important to have a plan prior to the shoot. You not only want to make sure you have all the proper equipment but you also want to be sure that you have the qualifications necessary for the job. Prepare all the necessary materials and be sure to bring a good topic for conversation so that your subject can relax while you are shooting.
Portrait photography is one of the most satisfying hobbies that I have found. If you’re serious in making it your career, you can be sure that it can be lucrative as long as you perfect your craft. However, remember that you should have the heart for the job because portrait photography’s first requirement is interest.

Does More Money Translate Into Better Digital Camera Pictures?
What are the biggest complaints about point and shoot digital cameras? There are plenty to be sure, but you have to wonder if many are valid. After all, just about everyone I know owns a point and shoot of some brand flavor. Maybe it’s just certain brands to watch out for. Some of the complaints are valid, as camera manufactures try to out muscle each other in a very competitive niche by cheaping out on design and manufacturing steps. While other complaints are nothing more then new users not understanding how their camera works, or elitist “professionals” snubbing their noses at the unwashed mainstream. But how to you tell the difference?
Certainly the best way to know, is to do your research. After all, point and shoot digital cameras do have their strong points, and they wouldn’t be such perennial good sellers if people didn’t want them. Simplicity is their strongest suit. Who has the time to learn all the fancy tricks pro photographers use to get great pictures?
There are things to watch of for however. Point and shoots can be slow. Failing to capture the perfect photo, because the camera is too slow to respond is simply not acceptable. The only time a photo is missed, should be due to a slow photographer. The camera can be slow for a number of reasons. The most glaring one with point and shoots, is flash recharge time. Quite often, these little cameras simply don’t carry enough battery power. LCD’s, electronics, and flashes can drain them quickly. Taking multiple pictures quickly is often just not possible with a point and shoot camera.
The XTi manual comes right out and says this is a safety feature intended to protect the flash. Again, you need to judge if this is an issue for you. If your the type that likes to fire off twenty or so pictures in a row, then this camera will likely annoy you to no end. Otherwise, this is really a non issue.
Of course there are other things to consider, but these are the big ones. Point and shoots are quite capable of taking excellent pictures. In the hands of a competent photographer, there’s no reason why they can’t hold their own with the more expensive “pro” category of SLR cameras.
Cameras that look like digital SLR cameras are usually digicams that have either an optical finder or a small LCD. You can’t consider them as digital SLR cameras since the mirror is missing, and the quality of the photos isn’t even close to what you can do with a true SLR. Usually, this type of camera has a very long zoom, and another name for them is magazooms or ZLRs.

Digital Camera Tricky Pros And Cons Shopping Guide
All cameras on the market nowadays come with LCD screens, so this is no longer a novelty. These screens come in various sizes to ease the photo making process and get the shooting experience to be more pleasant.
Probably the most common problem that can occur with a digital camera is when the zoom lens won’t work anymore. It’s impossible to focus or fire and the LCD screen will read some error message. This is most of the due to the knocking out of alignment of the lens.
LCD’s come in various resolutions, and the higher the resolution, the more accurate the preview is. Also, you will need the LCD to browse through the menu option. So, to put it bluntly, don’t even think about buying a camera that doesn’t have a display.
The kid just digital camera from Fisher-Price cost about seventy dollars. The memory card can hold about 50 images. There is some distortion when you look through the lens and the resolution is low, but these cameras are idea for youngsters. No matter what kind of pictures these cameras take, the kids love them.
Thus, if you will take photos in low light, it is always a good idea to figure out the highest ISO on the camera you intend to buy and not settle for one with an ISO lower than 800.
More advanced photographers will want some degree of manual controls over the shot they are taking. Advanced compact cameras offer controls like exposure time, shutter speed and white balance. But if you don’t know what these are, you are better off with a regular point-and-shoot camera.
Good camera prices, and digital cameras for kids, don’t always find themselves on the same shelf. There are however deals out there for the savvy consumer, who knows what to look for, and when to buy.

Easy Digital Camera Suggestions For Everyone
Learning from those that have gone before you, is always a smart strategy. For, as they say those who ignore the past, are doomed to repeat it. That goes for mountain climbing, nuclear war, and buying digital cameras. A strange combination of endeavors to be sure, but a universal truth is indeed universal. So, if your looking for the best digital camera you can get, it makes perfect sense to consider what those who came before you decided to purchase.
Why not benefit from their wisdom, research, and decision make acumen? The nice thing, about have the internet around these days, is how easy it is to come up with these kinds of statistics for just about anything. It doesn’t have to be digital cameras, it could be anything.
As well, it’s pretty easy to come up with fairly current information as well. Amazon for instance, lists the top selling items from a number of their product lines, and digital cameras is just one of them.
For example, you should know what a megapixel does before you buy a SLR digital camera based on the number of megapixels alone. The number of megapixels indicate how big is the camera’s resolution (the number of light pixels in a given space).
The bigger the number of pixels, the clearer and sharper is the image. They can get pricey though, so the key is to find one that has a good price and a sufficient quality image.
They do as a matter of fact sell just about every camera manufacturer you can imagine. That includes but, not exclusively Sony, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Panasonic, Kodak, Sanyo, and Sharp. There are more, but I think you get the picture.
That’s enough tech speak. How ’bout I make a few recommendations. The Canon PowerShot A570IS is a great beginner digital camera. It’s been on a lot of top 10 lists lately, and continues to sell extremely well. For less than $150, you get 7MP, image stabilization, face recognition focusing, and the solid Canon name brand.
You might be curious what exactly does SLR means. SLR comes from “single-lens reflex”. This digital camera has a small mirror that moves between the film and the lens. Then it uses the lens to project the image on the focusing screen. There are a lot of SLR digital cameras available, from all manufacturers. Two examples of SLR cameras are Nikon D70 and those from Canon.
Since you know a few things about SLR digital cameras now, you can start your search for that new digital camera. You should start by checking out the reviews and ratings of different digital cameras.
Take a visit to your favorite camera store, and take a camera test drive. Take your time and don’t let the sales staff rush you. Ask lots of questions, and take lots of pictures. Before you know it, you’ll be taking pictures like a pro with your very own digital camera.

Matching Up The Perfect Digital Camera For You
The Canon Rebel XSi is my first digital SLR, and I’ve been using it for around three months now. I must admit I was a bit wary about getting a brand new camera, but I’ve always liked Canon cameras since I used an ELAN II back in high school. Two years ago I also bought a Canon SD600 and I was happy with it.
Picking the best model when you take a look at a number of different SLR cameras is not as simple as it sounds. In many ways these cameras are all the same, but they do have some elements that are different, which can be used to make a choice. For example, you can use the size of the camera as an element, the number of megapixels or the optical zoom, or a combination of these elements. Choosing a digital SLR camera depends a bit on the features that it offers and the rest on what you need the camera to do for you.
First, try doing a self-assessment. While this isn’t something that will help you find your true calling or to quit smoking, it should be useful if you want to choose a digital SLR camera.
Many models come with a sports mode, that automatically chooses the fastest shutter speed the camera permits and allows continuous shooting mode (more pictures are taken in a sequence when you push the shutter button once, so that you can choose the best one)
Kids and pets: Kids and pets are also tricky to photograph: they move a lot, they run from place to place, so catching them in full action is also a bit tricky. Aside from the specifications outlined in the previous category, you will want your camera to be waterproof (kids and pets love to play anywhere that’s messy) and also face detection functionality. If you can get your hands on a camera who has a smile detection feature you should consider buying that one.
Indoor photos: Taking pictures indoors is particularly tricky due to lighting issues. The flash of your camera isn’t always the solution to great photos: it can be of great help, but used without care it can produce unwanted effects (weird shades, mirror reflections).
In addition to a good flash mechanism, your camera should have a high ISO number - usually something above 800 works for most dim light conditions. Also, for a perfect indoor portrait picture make sure your camera comes with a face detection mode.
Landscape photography is totally different from taking photos of people. When you take photos of people, you interact with them a lot, but with nature photography you enjoy solitude and taking in the view much more.

The Finer Details Of Buying A Digital Camera
Life is getting easier with the advent of modern technologies. All you have to do now is prepare your cash to buy the merchandise or gadget you want to have. Every product has different features that will suit your needs. Manufacturers of electronic gadgets also joined the trend. They are always producing new items with different highlights. Digital camera camcorders do not want to be the least on the list.
Not too much of a revelation, but that big bad tool is of course the internet. As with any tool, the trick is often to know how to use it. I’ve got this really fancy wood working router on my workbench, but hell if I know what to do with it. It’s been sitting there for years.
Why I chose the Nikon over the Sony is simple: it’s less heavy and compact, making it easier to carry; also, the LCD menu is intuitive and clear and, of course, because Nikon is well-respected for the fine lenses it produces, and in a DSLR it’s really about which line you want to follow in purchasing lenses in the future.
If you need simple editing processes, then you should consider getting a mini DV. The basic features of a mini-DV are very fit for people who are on a budget. A mini DV will also allow you to shift images to DVD provided you have the software and the time to do it. If you want somebody to do the transfer for you, you need to shell out cash for payment.
What you can do online that you can’t do in even the biggest of big box stores though, is compare products, features and prices until you-know-where freezes over. Yes, it’s true the internet will make you smarter . . . if your willing to use it.
Take note of the size and weight of the digital camcorder you plan to buy. You must know exactly your purpose of getting your digital camcorder.. Smaller camcorders are light and handy. Big and heavy camcorders, on the other hand, are less comfortable to carry but they have more features and significant lenses.
While getting stuck in a research loop will save you money, sometimes you just need to put the mouse down, get in your car, break out the credit card and make the purchase. With all the online help you’ve had, your bound to make the right decision.

The In’s & Out’s Of Digital Camera Shopping
If someone would ask you which the best digital camera to buy is, you might respond with a Canon or a Fuji camera. The thing is that there are many different digital cameras that might be just as comparable to a Canon or a Fuji.
The best camera to buy is a Canon, but if you do not like the price, you could find something comparable, but the picture quality, functions and features may be lees than expected. You can still compare other cameras and see if you can find something that you would like. Find the best Canon digital camera and then look for comparable cameras from different manufacturers.
After you find out which is the best digital camera to buy is, you will see that Canon or maybe even Fuji comes out on top. Compare specifications to see what each camera has and how easy they are to use.
Check the prices and see how they compare. Look at the design and see if it will handle comfortably when taking pictures. Next, you should read reviews to see if the camera is all that it says it is and if there are any known problems. This is very important when selecting the best camera.
Higher ISO values makes the camera more sensitive to light, which makes it possible to achieve faster shutter speeds under certain lighting conditions. If you’re not familiar with ISO settings, you can opt to use the Auto ISO function which automatically sets and matches the ISO and the aperture to ensure proper exposure at certain shutter speeds.
The XSi 450D has tons more of other great features which are making more and more users hail it as one of the best SLR cameras, if not the top SLR camera, available today in the entry-level arena.
